Maintenance Technician

Position Summary:
St. Bernadette Catholic Church is a family parish with 2300 members in the Clear Lake area. We have an opening for a full-time Maintenance Technician. This position performs a variety of general maintenance tasks and repairs of buildings, grounds, and equipment to include: carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and landscaping. This is a full-time position with benefits.
Responsibilities:- Performing basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, general repairs, routine and preventative maintenance
- Maintaining/Managing all aspects of the parish facilities and grounds
- Completing all maintenance work assigned and responds to after hour building maintenance and emergencies
- Inspecting buildings and other structures to detect malfunction and needed repairs
- Supporting the parish with setup and teardown of events
- Coordinating repairs with vendors and contractors
- Ensuring the safety and security of the church facilities
- Availability for nights and weekends for emergencies or special events
- Following established safety procedures and protocols
Qualifications/Experience:- Experience in all aspects of maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair
- Candidates for the position must be able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, perform room set ups and take downs
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- 3+ years in related experience or training
- Availability for occasional nights or weekends
- Works well in a team environment and possesses good planning and organizational skills
- Must possess excellent written, verbal, and computer skills
- Must be able to pass a traditional background check
- Must be able to complete Safe Environment training
