"Human society can be neither well-ordered nor prosperous unless it has some people invested with legitimate authority to preserve its institutions and to devote themselves as far as is necessary to work and care for the good of all."
-St. John XXIII
The Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) serves at the discretion of the pastor. It offers the pastor council through its shared wisdom. The Council helps the pastor discern current and future "pastoral issues" that require dialogue, consultation, study, prayer and strategies. The Council offers this wisdom through its work of listening to the faithful of the parish.
Our current work:
The Parish Pastoral Council is current engaged in two significant works which have great impact on parish life.
The Synod - the PPC is currently and will for the entire year work through the Final Document of the recently completed
Synod of the Church. The work of the Synod gives attention to Communion, Participation & Mission and encourages a
process of listening called Conversion in the Spirit.
St. Bernadette 50th Anniversary - the PPC is and will be giving attention to the celebration of the parish's 50th year, helping
to write the story of the parish's 50th year, helping to write the story of the parish, identify key leaders of the years past,
sponsoring listening sessions and other works that honor the great history of the parish
Ongoing work:
The Parish Pastoral Council assists the pastor and the Parish Staff in identifying new ministry needs through its regular study, prayer and meaningful conversation.
