We are so happy you have chosen our church for your wedding. Since you are receiving your marriage preparation at another parish, we wanted you to know what the procedures are to be married at St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
Please see the steps listed below.
What is the process?
There are several steps that need to be followed prior to scheduling a marriage ceremony at St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
This online form below needs to be filled out and submitted to have your marriage at St. Bernadette if you are being prepared at another church.
You should start or already be in a Catholic marriage preparation program conducted by your local priest or deacon. All marriage preparation should be completed at your current home church. We will need a letter from the deacon or priest who is preparing you for marriage that states you have completed or are in the process of completing marriage preparation. This letter can be an email from a church email address or a letter on church letterhead.
Once we have the information listed above, then we can see if the desired date is available. If the date is available, we will forward your request for clergy to our deacons and priest to see who is available. You are always free to contact a member of our clergy yourself to see if they are can celebrate your marriage. We are unable to place your date on the calendar without confirmation of clergy.
Once clergy has been confirmed, we can tentatively schedule your wedding date.
We require a $300 facilities use fee to reserve your wedding date on our parish calendar. Once we have received the fee, your date will be placed on our calendar.
The clergy conducting your marriage preparation at your home church will mail the completed marriage preparation packet and all required documentation to St. Bernadette Catholic Church at least 30 days before your scheduled wedding.
We will notify our Director of Worship about your upcoming marriage, and they will be in contact with you regarding the liturgy and music.
You will need to meet with the St. Bernadette priest or deacon to discuss ceremony details before the marriage. If you are providing your own clergy, you would have the ceremony discussion with them.
You will need to be available for a rehearsal a day or two before the wedding. At that time, a valid Texas Marriage License must be presented.
